Sustainable processing of acoustic panels

Re.furbish to improve the carbon footprint

At König + Neurath, circular thinking is at the centre of our sustainability strategy. We are convinced that high-quality existing furniture deserves a new chance - the perfect approach for realising this project. Our client F.Hoffmann-La Roche planned the sustainable refurbishment of 850 acoustically effective panels. The aim was not only to thoroughly refurbish and enlarge them, but also to implement a modern fabric and colour concept.

We took over the existing panels and carried out a comprehensive inspection of their substance. Due to new table dimensions, the panels had to be widened. For this purpose, König + Neurath developed customised wooden additions, which were installed with craftsmanship and great care. We then produced customised fabric covers according to our customer's new sizes and colour concept. Table panels that were no longer renewable were replaced with new INSIDE.50 panels from our portfolio. We recycled the old fabric covers and unusable panels.

The result was a sustainable combination of refurbished and new panels - visually attractive, technically tested and resource-saving.
